Parap is best known for its Saturday market at Parap Village, where half of Darwin seems to go for laksa. Around it are tree-lined streets of elevated tropical homes, unit blocks and newer apartments, close to the city and to Fannie Bay. It is a settled suburb with a mix of long-term residents, young families and renters.
Elevated homes — built up on posts for breezes and cyclone codes — often have bedrooms that catch the air through louvres, with ceiling fans doing much of the work. Parap questions
Usually not. A musty smell is moisture held in the top layers. A clean with sanitise — or the mould and mildew treatment if there are spots — normally fixes it.
The dry season is the easiest for drying, and many people book before visitors arrive. But with air-con running, we can clean effectively all year.
How it works

A filtered vacuum pass pulls out dust, skin flakes and mite debris before any moisture goes in.
Enzyme for urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for blood and sweat yellowing.
Low-moisture steam cleaning rinses the fibres and pulls the dirt — and the water — straight back out.
Optional sanitiser and deodoriser, then airflow. Most mattresses are dry the same day.

A single is $89, a double $125, a queen $135 and a king $155. Urine treatment, dust mite treatment and sanitising are optional add-ons from $30–$40, all listed on our price table. The minimum booking is $135, and every mattress after the first is 10% off. The price is confirmed before we start and never climbs afterwards.
With the air-con running, usually 4–6 hours. In the build-up and the wet, humidity slows drying right down, so we use less moisture, extract harder and ask you to keep the room closed and air-conditioned (or a dehumidifier on) until it is dry. Book a morning slot and it is ready by bedtime.
In most cases, yes — the smell almost always, the stain usually. We use an enzyme treatment that breaks urine down at the source instead of perfuming over it, then extract it. Very old or repeatedly soaked mattresses can keep a faint mark, and we will tell you that honestly before you pay.
It dramatically reduces them and, more importantly, removes the allergen-heavy dust and skin flakes they live on. Our dust mite treatment adds a HEPA-filtered vacuum pass and an anti-allergen treatment. No clean makes a mattress mite-free forever — a washable protector and a clean every 6–12 months keeps numbers down.
